Release Notes

Release notes outline the changes and updates introduced in each version of the application.

Patch 2026.4.1

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • The QA Observations view no longer crashes when sorting by Priority for some cases.
  • Observation suggestions are now visible even when the associated component type is disabled in the Components panel.
  • Resolved an issue causing some tasks to crash Inspect unexpectedly.
  • Fixed the Thermal image filter not working correctly in Inspect 2.

🔧 Improvements

  • The observation list in Work and QA views now shows who last modified an observation and when.

✅ New Features

Inspect 2

  • More Advanced Image Filtering: You can now filter the filmstrip by file type (RGB, Thermal, Point clouds, PDF) and by tags using chip-style toggles — each option shows a count so you can see what's available at a glance.
    • Pinned filters for "With observation suggestion" and "With confirmed suggestion" make it fast to focus on media that needs attention.
    • Filters combine with AND logic, and the filmstrip dropdown shows "X/N" when filters are active so you always know how much of the task you're viewing.
  • Point cloud settings are now remembered: Your preferred point cloud viewer settings are stored across viewers and across all participants — so you no longer need to re-configure each time you open a viewer. Asset name is now shown by default.

Work

  • Set task — manage asset-to-task assignment: You can now move, add, remove or create tasks directly from the asset list in Work (both project and project group level) and from Task Overview in Inspect.
    • Only assets that are not completed and have no registered observations are eligible — ineligible ones stay visible but greyed out, so it's clear what can and can't be moved.
    • New Asset State and Project Group columns have been added to the asset lists to help you make the right assignment decisions.

Asset Home

  • Observation status updates: You can now see the full status update history for each observation directly on the asset home page, making it easier to track how an observation has evolved over time.

🔧 Improvements

  • Maps: Map legends are now shown in the inspection view, giving you clearer context about what's displayed on the map.
  • Inspect 2: Asset ID and asset name headings now show more characters before truncating, so you can identify assets more easily without hovering.

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Collect:
    • Fixed relinking selection so that selecting images and an asset for relinking now works consistently, including after opening a group.
    • Assets in Grid View are now sorted using natural sort by default, so you no longer need to click the column header to get the expected ordering.
    • Thermal images now reliably receive the Thermal tag during import, including images coming through the iPEN migration path.
  • Bounding box resize on new observation: You can now adjust the bounding box while creating an observation — resize handles appear in the corners just like when editing an existing observation.
  • Creating overlapping bounding boxes: It was not possible to draw a new bounding box on top of existing ones when "Show observations" was toggled on. This has now been fixed.
  • Point cloud viewer: Fixed an issue where the viewer sometimes failed to zoom into the asset and appeared empty.
  • Image thumbnails: Corrected the selected state styling so selected thumbnails show only the green border, not a green background fill.

✅ New Features & Enhancements

Customizable Landing Page

  • You can now choose whether Projects or Grid Analytics is your default landing page in Grid Vision, so the app opens where you work most.
  • Open the settings panel at the top of the Grid Vision application to adjust this.

🔧 Improvements

  • Overall:
    • Updated styling throughout the application for a more consistent look and feel.
    • Improved Navigation & Error Handling: When navigating to a task, project group, or project that no longer exists, you now get a helpful redirect with an informative message instead of a blank error page.
  • Performance:
    • Fixed queries for fetching AI suggestions that sometimes caused slow load times and timeouts in the asset list (Work) and suggestion loading (Inspect).
  • Inspect - Task Overview:
    • Updated columns and layout for a cleaner task overview experience.
    • Filters now reset when switching between tasks, so you no longer carry over irrelevant filters from a previous task.

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Project - Work:
    • When completing a task in Inspect and returning to the Work page, the task status now updates automatically without needing a manual page refresh.
    • Asset names now sort in natural order again (1, 2, 10 instead of 1, 10, 2) across all asset listings including Work, Inspect, Collect, Asset Hub, and observation exports.
    • Custom observation properties are now correctly included in observation exports.
    • Task overview now correctly shows only the assets belonging to the specific task, not all assets in the group.
    • Groups with multiple tasks can now be approved correctly when all tasks are completed.
    • You can no longer accidentally uncomplete assets in a task that has already been approved.
  • Project - QA: Fixed an error that occurred when selecting observations in the QA list that had no bounding box.
  • Image Processing: Corrected the above sea level height calculation on images to display accurate altitude data.

✅ New Features & Enhancements

  • QA module
    • You can now reset the Approve/Reject status on observations in QA if you accidentally pressed thumbs up or down, preventing the need to work around mistaken approvals.
  • Inspect / Lidar
    • Stabilised and improved LiDAR usability in Inspect, giving you a more reliable and efficient experience when working with point cloud data during inspections.

🔧 Improvements

  • Media Viewer: Improved point cloud viewer with better asset information, collapsible empty sections, full filename on hover, and polygon display in the minimap.
  • Projects: Removed the "Open task" option from the project group list context menu to avoid confusion when multiple tasks exist.

  • Projects:
    • Fixed newly created tasks not appearing until page refresh.
    • Fixed project image count in the task list always showing 0.
    • Fixed missing translation in project search filter.
  • Inspect:
    • Fixed AI threshold filtering not always applying correctly.
    • Fixed image capture time not being resolved.
  • Grid Analytics: Fixed Excel export not working.
  • Import: Fixed incorrect media info file count shown in import details.

✅ New Features

Multiple Tasks Per Project Group

Less time spent on communication and less risk of errors! You can now collaborate a lot more efficiently during inspections. This feature enables the inspectors to work on the same grid segment without risking to work on the same assets. It's also makes it easier to redistribute work in case priorities or resource availability change during the course of the project.

  • You can now create multiple inspection tasks per project group and assign them to different inspectors.
  • Select specific assets to include in each task for better work distribution.
  • Group approval is blocked until QA is completed for all inspection tasks, ensuring quality control.

Project Library Improvements

  • Redesigned project library with tabbed navigation for a cleaner overview and faster loading.
  • Tabs are now available across Collect project library, Work project library, group pages, and asset pages.
  • Content loads on-demand, so you'll experience faster page loads.

Real-Time Updates

  • The application now provides real-time updates when you create imports, tasks, or assign users.
  • No more manual page refreshes to see your changes.
  • You'll get immediate feedback on background processes like project group creation.

🔧 Improvements

  • Grid Vision: Added support for Spanish language. The entire user interface is now available in Spanish and you can toggle between available languages. This also makes it easier for users who speak different languages to use the same environment without language constraints. This is especially helpful during for example inspection outsourcing when the inspectors can conduct the inspection in their own language and the utility can view the results in their native language.

  • Collect:

    • Processing icon now shows consistently when collecting groups.
    • Updated warning text for better clarity.
    • You can now import images and PDFs together with a single metadata file in a single import operation.
    • Media Viewer: You can now view CSV files directly in the media viewer.
    • Faster listing of uploaded items in Imports.
  • Project Library:
    • You can now delete empty projects directly from the Projects view.
    • Improved grids and queries for faster performance.
    • You can now middle-click to open items in a new tab.
    • Fixed app reloading issue when opening groups in Collect.
  • Inspect:
    • LiDAR fixes and improvements.
    • Reviewed suggestion section no longer auto-expands, reducing visual clutter.
    • Fixed sidepanel image grid display.
    • Observation Types: Components are now automatically removed from the list when all their observation types are disabled.
  • Access Control: You'll now see informative messages when you don't have access to Projects or Grid Analytics modules.

  • Plan: Fixed Create group not updating asset count.
  • Import:
    • New imports now appear automatically in the import list.
    • Updated file icons for different file types.
